Thyme Care Appoints VBC Executive Julia Ivanova as SVP of Growth
Healthcare strategy leader joins oncology innovator to expand access to cancer care support and align incentives between patients, providers and payers
NASHVILLE – May 23, 2023 – Thyme Care, a clinically-coordinated cancer care navigation company, today announced that Julia Ivanova has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Growth. Julia brings 15 years of managed care experience aligning provider and payer incentives in home care and chronic kidney care to the oncology space. At Thyme Care, Julia will be responsible for expanding access to high quality cancer care support to Medicare Advantage and commercial patients by establishing new partnerships and contracting models with health plans and providers.
More than 133 million Americans – nearly half the population – suffer from at least one chronic illness, such as kidney disease or cancer. Vulnerable patients rely on their local specialty provider, of which there is limited supply, to manage their treatment and navigate ancillary needs such as transportation or financial barriers. From an administrative and cost perspective, it’s very difficult for specialty providers to address their patients' multi-faceted needs and keep up with the volume of patients they have to see. For health plans, cancer represents an incredibly complex specialty with massive variability in outcomes and continually rising costs. Value-based solutions can help make that kind of support possible while reducing the need for avoidable and costly acute care services.
“Over the last 15 years I’ve helped payers and providers structure value-based partnerships to provide the best-possible care for patients, and I look forward to doing that for the oncology population with Thyme Care. I’m honored to join the talented team of healthcare and oncology experts as we strive to align incentives and make better care possible,” said Julia Ivanova, SVP of Growth.
Julia joins Thyme Care from one of the largest dialysis providers in the country, U.S. Renal Care, where she developed value-based kidney care partnerships with payers, health systems, and employers for Kidneylink, the company's value-based care division. Before that, Julia led business development efforts at Landmark Health, a risk-based in-home complex care provider, where she structured and negotiated value-based contracts with payers and health systems, enabling Landmark to scale its footprint nationwide. Earlier in her career, Julia was an Associate Partner in healthcare strategy at management consulting firm Oliver Wyman and worked at medtech company Stryker. She holds a B.S. in biomedical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and an MBA from the University of Michigan.
“Julia’s value-based care leadership experience will be invaluable at Thyme Care as we extend our reach with payers and providers to create the best possible care experience for cancer patients,” said Brad Diephuis, Chief Business Officer of Thyme Care. “We’re thrilled to have such an established leader to guide our next phase of growth.”
Built by a team of healthcare veterans, Thyme Care guides patients through their cancer journey by providing personalized, clinically-coordinated, tech-enabled care. Thyme Care’s dedicated care team helps patients understand the diagnosis, improve access to timely care, manage symptoms, address social barriers to care, and address urgent needs. Thyme Care partners with payers and at-risk providers in value-based arrangements to manage their cancer population and collaborates with oncology practices to deliver coordinated care. By putting the patient at the center of its care model and aligning primary care providers, oncologists and payers, Thyme Care delivers better outcomes, lower costs, and an improved member experience.
