Thyme Care, a Nashville-based cancer care navigation company, announced this week that it has added two medical directors and a social worker.
Dr. Asma Dilawari will serve as medical director of oncology care and lead expansion of the company's survivorship program. In addition, Dr. Nelia Jain will serve as medical director of palliative care and focus on growing virtual palliative care offering, Enhanced Supportive Care.
Dilawari, an oncologist, is a University of Tennessee alumna, having earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from UT. She spent some of her career at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration prior to joining Thyme Care.
Jain, a palliative care physician, most recently worked for senior health care company Devoted Health remotely. She earned a doctorate in medicine from Northwestern University.
Thyme Care also added Stephanie Broadnax Broussard to its social work team in the past several months.
The news comes following the company’s announcement earlier this year that it would begin serving eligible Humana Medicare Advantage members.
One year ago, Thyme Care announced it had raised $95 million in capital funds. The company is also part of the White House’s Cancer Moonshot initiative.
"Managing a cancer diagnosis requires more care than what our current system can offer. Our Care Team expansion reflects our commitment to supporting people with cancer in every aspect of their lives, not just their medical diagnosis. And with all the changes happening in our healthcare system, delivering coordinated, patient-first care is more important than ever before," said Dr. Julia Frydman, senior medical director who oversees the clinical team.
"The additions of Dr. Dilawari, Dr. Jain and Stephanie Broussard strengthen our ability to address the complex needs of our members and make a real impact on their cancer journey."
